Dr. Johnson is a senior physician executive with over 30 years as an accomplished chief executive officer & president, chief medical officer, senior vice president, board chairwoman, graduate school instructor, senior strategic advisor, and practicing internist. She has expertise in complex academic & community health system integration, change management, population health, organizational governance, and leadership of small and large group practices, accountable care organizations, health plan operations, joint ventures, and mergers & acquisitions.
Betsy earned her bachelor’s degree from Bowdoin College, an MD from Vanderbilt University School of Medicine, and a Master in Health Care Management from Harvard T. H. Chan School of Public Health. Betsy is an Assistant Professor of Medicine UMass Chan Medical School Lahey, Clinical Assistant Professor for Tufts University School of Medicine, was formerly on the TUSM MaineTrack Admissions Committee, and currently is an Instructor in the Department of Health Policy and Management at the Harvard Chan School of Public Health for the Master Health Care Management program.
